Re: Episode 675: Erik Malmstrom – Christian Weeks – How to Achieve Sustainable Indoor Air Quality – Part 2

This turned out to be a great 2 part show. I was not sure going in what to think but came away impressed. The collaboration between this group of companies is a little unusual but seems to have worked out really well. I suspect we will see more of this in the future. Good luck to all 3 of our guests...

Re: Episode 674: Marwa Zaatari, PhD & Christian Weeks – How to Achieve Sustainable Indoor Air Quality

My thanks to Christian Weeks and Dr. Marwa Zaatari for a detailed discussion of the "Clean First" process their groups are proposing for building owners. Naturally building owners are hesitant to just increase ventilation to improve IAQ and help with infection control. It's expensive to ov...

Re: Episode 672: Tom Peter, MS, CIH & Trent Darden - Joining Forces

Thanks to Tom and Trent for a very interesting show. It's interesting to see what is going on with the restoration industry as it matures and consolidates. It is also always interesting for me to hear how projects are being cleared and what logistical issues are encountered then of course how to sol...

Re: Episode 671: Bill Bahnfleth, PhD, PE - Dustin Poppendieck, PhD - Alison Savage, MPH - Why Indoor Chemistry Matters!

The hard part about dealing with indoor air chemistry is figuring out what is wrong and then how to solve the issue. The report from NASEM is a great start to learning more about this topic. There is still a lot to do but at least now we have a foundation to build on.

Re: Episode 669: Dave Dorman, DVM, PhD - Rima Habre, ScD - Megan Harries, PhD - NASEM - Why Indoor Chemistry Matters

Why Indoor Chemistry Matters is an important inflection point in how we look at indoor environments. For 50 years we have looked at CO and CO2 and Formaldehyde, Lead, Asbestos, particulate, mold and the elusive VOC's. Now we are seeing that grandma was correct and its all of these plus more and they...

Re: Episode 668: Bill Sothern, DrPH, Chris Mikrut, Michael Berg, PhD - Misalignment between Clinical Mold Antigen Extrac

Sometimes you are not sure how a show is going to go until you do it. This week was no exception and in the end it came out exceptional. The last day inclusion of Dr. Michael Berg was very helpful and his contribution along with Dr. Sothern and Chris Mikrut made for a great show. This is an importan...

Re: Episode 667: Bradley Prezant, MBA, MSPH, CIH - Assessing Risk of Infection & Air Exchange – CO2 Pitfalls, SF6 Benefi

It's always a pleasure talking to Brad Prezant. Upbeat and intelligent are just two words to describe him. What started out as a pretty technical show also included a bunch of practical information that can be implemented quickly. I will be using some of the things learned today when we open a new g...

Re: Episode 665: David Jacobs, PhD, CIH – A Healthy Homes Pioneer; Over 40 Years of Improving IEQ

Thank you Dave Jacobs not only for doing the show with us yesterday but for your decades of work helping make homes healthier. I love these kind of shows when we learn about what happened behind the headlines. Be it the Cleveland IPH topic or how the HUD Guidelines for Lead Based Paint came about to...

Re: Episode 664: Joe Spurgeon, PhD - Surface Dust Samples, ERMI Scores and Assessing Mold Exposures

Always great to learn from Dr. Joe Spurgeon. All I can say is I hope more and more people learn from Joe's years of expertise. If only I had a magic wand and could get the industry to listen to Joe. And if only the alternative medicine docs would recognize the major issues with using ERMI Scores to ...
