Show Resources: Show Discussion:

12:26:32 From Donald Weekes : Or 'None' as a title., pronounced 'No-ne' a French Canadian company now worldwide consulting firm, :)
12:28:41 From Donald Weekes : Thanks, Joe, for the CIH reference. :)
12:29:13 From Host Computer : Interesting that IEQ has sort of been replaced again with IAQ since COVID. Maybe we do have the right name
12:30:54 From Donald Weekes : Maybe. Let's see what happens with the new White House emphasis on IAQ. Heat stress is also a 'hot' issue. :)
12:35:48 From Ed Light : Your guest expressed a common misconception about how COVID spread on the Diamond Princess. The published research on this shows that COVID was not transmitted by HVAC circulation. Assumptions that HVAC transmission is significant are not based on direct evidence and have resulted in a tremendous waste of resources in responding to COVID by maximizing ventilation and filtration. I'm presenting on this in Toronto at the upcoming ASHRAE Conference.
12:36:20 From Donald Weekes : Robert is right that there is a need for a building science curricula to the undergrad level. In Canada, there are courses on building science at both universities and colleges, but there is not a degree that you can get.
12:39:10 From Donald Weekes : Professor Liam O'Brien at Carleton has a number of courses on IAQ, but no degree as yet.
